Anorak Bedding

When you think of the word 'Anorak' you think of those, not so fashionable, thin anorak jackets.

However, the word 'Anorak' has been made trendy by the 'Anorak' brand. A brand that is found now in many of the big stores.

We love great design and to be honest when these designs came into store, I fell in love with them.

Anorak originally specialised in outdoor products for camping and accessories for the garden. They brought out new bedding and Homeware ranges in 2009 that have been inspired by their love for the outdoors and contemporary design.

What's also rather lovely, is it's a British company. It's founder Laurie Robertson uses striking animal silhouettes in all her designs, from gorgeous horses to proud stags.

Their designs are not only funky but fun and especially their rabbit design, which has a lovely retro feel to it. Whether it be the bedding ranges, which are available in single and doubles or the gorgeous sleeping bags, perfect for that stylish sleepover and with plenty of wriggle room, have some fun and splash a little style into your life.

Scandinavian Nursery Design Ideas

There is something about the simplicity and beauty of Scandinavian style that I simply adore.

This style encompasses several different designs. White walls and blue/grey textiles are one of the most distinctive modern designs that we associate with this style, but Scandinavians will also use colourful textiles in their homes to add both character and warmth.

White walls and light wooden floors reflect light back into a room, an all important aspect of Scandinavian style, as they experience such long dark winters. Using white walls in a nursery also creates a blank canvas to work from and makes a room adaptable as your child grows. Natural materials such as wood is highly favoured to create warmth and texture.

Mixing patterns, even stripes and florals is absolutely fine. Where Scandinavian style is concerned, forget matching items and go for individual pieces. Don't over clutter. Think less is more.

The beauty of using both modern and old furniture creates a simple style. Remember it's all about elegant lines but also a liveable, comfortable and functional style for your nursery.

Take a peek at our selection of ideas below.

Elephant Themed Nursery

Precious Little Bundle Cashmere Blanket by Cashmere Tots Scotland
We are using elephants as our nursery decorating theme this week with a focus mostly on gender neutral styles, particularly for those parents who haven't found out the sex of their baby. I hope that you find some inspiration from the designs below.

Black & White Nursery

apartmenttherapy.com

While black and white is not used much within nurseries, I find these black and white nursery collections, stylish, cool and calming, perfect for adorning with your little ones colourful possessions.

The black and white colour scheme gives the nursery a dramatic backdrop, while being perfectly gender neutral.

If working with small spaces, this colour scheme also allows a room to feel simple and not overwhelmed.
